Sara Finesilver, MS, is a strategic governance and leadership development consultant with experience designing and implementing board and organizational development programs, board structure and governance processes, strategic planning initiatives, behavior-based competency models, performance assessments at the board and senior executive level, and CEO succession planning processes. She has worked with a wide range of corporate and non-profit clients from a variety of industries, including health, supply-chain, education, performing arts, oil and gas, manufacturing and transportation.

Sara joined Nygren Consulting in 2008 after managing human resources, benefits, retention, and recruiting for three years at a private San Francisco law firm. She also has seven years of experience as a corporate litigation consultant conducting site visits, leading interviews and focus groups with subject-matter experts, conducting time-in-motion observations, and reviewing legal documentation and depositions for wage and hour corporate litigation cases.

Over the course of three years, Sara provided one-on-one coaching to Haas Business School students through the Berkeley Innovative Leadership Development program, with a focus on teaching MBA students advanced tools and coaching methods to become strong leaders and high performing team members, both in and outside of their graduate program.

She gives back to her community by serving as a member of the Boulder County AIDS Project Board of Directors, and by volunteering her governance services to the Felton Institute Board of Directors, the largest private non-sectarian human services provider in San Francisco. Sara served as a member of the Lake Forest College Board of Directors for eight years, and as Chair of that board’s Membership Committee for four years.

Sara was an adjunct faculty member of the Psychology department at San Francisco State University where she taught the Psychology of Motivation. She has also been certified as a Social Fitness Facilitator by the Heroic Imagination Project, founded by Dr. Phil Zimbardo of the Stanford Prison Study. Sara earned her B.A. in Psychology at Lake Forest College, where she also played varsity ice hockey, and a M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, at San Francisco State University. She was born and raised in Aspen, Colorado.
